Êsê-denè Fêqê (/g̃o/ /ˈdenè/ [orange] [compassion; empathy]) is a subtropical Large Town located in the Z̄upaguv Zone of the Union of Engineers.

The name Êsê-denè Fêqê is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Êsê-denè Fêqê was founded by Kelsey Glkêbêbm, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

Êsê-denè Fêqê has a yearly average temperature of 25°C (77°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 29°C (84°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 22°C (71°F). Êsê-denè Fêqê receives an average of 69 cm/y (27 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the spring. Êsê-denè Fêqê covers an area of nearly 7 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 5320 m (17454 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Êsê-denè Fêqê was founded durring the late 15th century in summer of the year 1384, by Kelsey Glkêbêbm. The establishment of Êsê-denè Fêqê was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Êsê-denè Fêqê's construction back out of the project. Kelsey Glkêbêbm pushed on reguardles, and Êsê-denè Fêqê was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Êsê-denè Fêqê was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the late 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Êsê-denè Fêqê is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature delicute timber framework hidden behind layer upon layer of finly ground plaster bleached to an almost glossy white sheen, with green clay tiled roofs and decorative brass-leafed trim. Even the smallest, poorest looking structures appear to be expencive thanks to the extreem elegence of the organic shapes and paterns going into their lofty, spire-y, vagly gothic designs. The more well off folks live in identicle homes, save for even shiner trim and a more whimsical appearance to their structures flowing forms.

Êsê-denè Fêqê is buildings are arranged arround a single broad cobblestone mainstreet with many smaller streets branching off of it which gives the town a over all rectangular shape, albit one warped and twisted by the nature of the curves of the main road. The town rests behind a thin stone wall. The wall's design was likly directly copied from a castle's parmiter defences. It's simply that the arcatect made Êsê-denè Fêqê's wall substancialy thinner than a castle's walls. While the towers and gatehouses are adiquite, the obvious cost savings measure of making the walls drasticaly thinner reduces their ability to resist siege weapons greatly. The town's impressive-looking wall could fail at a critical moment in battle, and would likely not even resist a few bandits with improvised siege equipment. Unfortuantly, these budget oriented are in extreem disrepair, so much so that one cannot tell if they are decaying from a lack of mantance or damage incured.

Êsê-denè Fêqê is not quite well. Something happened here, perhapse recently, perhapse long ago. Whatever it was, it settled into the very soul of the town like a festering wound. The people go about their day well enough, but there’s a tention in the air you can cut with a knife. There’s a patern to the panic. It’s not easy to see, and no one quite agrees on what it is, but the locals know and operate under this pattern. It shapes everything they do, and you feel as if you’ve almost worked it out only for some small detail to devastate your theory every time you try and comprehend it.

Civic Infrastructure

Êsê-denè Fêqê has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Êsê-denè Fêqê. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Êsê-denè Fêqê's parks.

Êsê-denè Fêqê has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Êsê-denè Fêqê.

Êsê-denè Fêqê has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Êsê-denè Fêqê's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Êsê-denè Fêqê has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Êsê-denè Fêqê's natural decorations nor waterways.

Êsê-denè Fêqê has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.

Êsê-denè Fêqê has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Êsê-denè Fêqê has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

Êsê-denè Fêqê's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by vertical proportions, pointed arches, external buttressing, and asymmetry in the general shape of its buildings. The decorative features of the style were key, consisting of large arched windows, pointed arches, vaulted ceilings, flying buttresses, and sculptures integrated into the structure itself. Occasionally, for very important buildings, an array of sculptures or one colossal sculpture might replace the entirety of the entrance to said building.

Êsê-denè Fêqê's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves consuming a local narcotic to channel Illusion energies of tier 1 via oath swearing.
